ataturk2.jpgI hereby bestow all my spiritual and material posessions, all real estate in Cankaya as well as all movables and valuables in my posession upon the Rebublican People’s Party under following conditions:

1. My property shall, as is presently the case, accumulate interest at Iş Bank.

2. As long as their relations remain honorable and as long as they live, Makbule shall receive one thousand liras a month, Afet 800, Sabiha Gökçen 600, Ülkü 200 and Rukiye and Nebile 100 liras each from the interest, as in every year till now. (more…)

Salonika Atatürk House

ataturk-house.jpgAtatürk was born in Salonika in 1881. Atatürk was born in this historical house, spent his childhood and part of his youth. And in this house, with his friends, he planned and decided for an independent country with a free governing regime. This historical house after being restored and arranged as a museum, opened to visit under the name of “Atatürk House”.

The Atatürk House is located at 75, Apostolu Pavlu Avenue, Aya Dimitria district in Salonika. The Turkish Consulate is situated next to the house.
According to the old records, “Atatürk House” in Salonika was situated on Islahane Caddesi, Kazım Pasha District in Salonika. The house is a three-storey building with a courtyard and a basement floor. (more…)

1893 He enrolls in the Military Cadet School in Salonika.

1896 He graduates to the Military High School in Manastir.

1899 He graduates to the War College in Istanbul.

1902 He graduates to the War Academy in Istanbul.

ATATURK, FOUNDER OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC AND THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born in a three-storey pink house at Islahhane Street, Kocakasim District, Salonika in 1881. His father was Ali Riza Efendi and mother was Zübeyde Hanim. His paternal grand father Hafiz Efendi is a member of Kocacik Nomads from Konya and Aydin region, which was settled in Macedonia during 14th-15th centuries. His mother Zübeyde Hanim, also a daughter of an old Turkish family, settled in the town of Langasa near Salonika. Ali Riza Efendi who worked in various areas such as; a military officer, a pious foundation clerk and for some time a timber merchant and got married with Zübeyde Hanim in 1871. Four of Atatürk’s five siblings died at an early age, only his sister Makbule Atadan survived and lived until 1956. (more…)
